Arthur Harrington is a lifelong Detroiter and committed public servant whose educational journey reflects his drive to lead and serve. He graduated from Cass Technical High School, one of Detroit’s most storied public schools, before earning his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Hampton University—graduating a full year early. Arthur is now a law student at Wayne State University Law School, where he continues to sharpen the legal skills he will bring to public office.
 
Arthur began his public service on Capitol Hill, working in Washington, D.C., where he gained firsthand experience with federal policy and constituent advocacy. Returning home, he strengthened his commitment to the city by serving on the Detroit City Council staff, contributing to policy initiatives that impact neighborhoods across the city. He also worked for the Detroit Department of Elections in the City Clerk’s Office, ensuring fair and accessible elections. He completed the City of Detroit’s prestigious Mayoral Fellowship in the Department of Appeals and Hearings under Mayor Mike Duggan.
 
For his service and leadership, Arthur has been honored with the Spirit of Detroit Award, one of the city’s highest civic distinctions, and named a Moguls in the Making awardee for his innovative community work.
 
As a candidate for Michigan’s 9th House District, Arthur is running to bring fresh energy, practical solutions, and a collaborative spirit to Lansing. He’s focused on expanding economic opportunity, strengthening public safety, and ensuring every voice in Detroit is heard.
